What brought you to Partners in Excellence?
I love the mission of being able to provide a diverse array of services in one center for families and having passion as a core value. The opportunity to help others and my community has always been a passion of mine and finding a career that would allow me to do that was my goal, I found that within Partners in Excellence.
Describe your fellow Partners employees in three words:
Passionate, Positive, and Dedicated
What is something most people don’t know about you?
Most people don’t know that I love to sing, I may not be the best but having a karaoke night with friends is my go to activity.
Do you have any advice for someone who is just starting their career at Partners?
My advice would be to allow yourself time to adjust (if you are new to the field) and asking questions when needed. It was hard at first to learn the ABA techniques, coming from just learning about it through school, but having open communication with your peers allows for learning and improvement.
If you could be anyone for a week, who would it be and why?
I would like to be any one who lives in Hawaii. I would love to be on the beach and going on hikes in the mountains!
Is there a moment, a specific story, event, or a kiddo that really stands out to you in your time at Partners?
One of the clients in my pod has been reliant our their AAC device since their start at partners. But within the last two months, they have been functionally speaking and requesting for things independently. It is amazing to see them advance in their skills. It is always rewarding to see our kiddos grow!
Which of our core values most resonates with you and why?
Passion. I think the passion to help others and to be able to provide our services to our kiddos and families underlies all of our other core values. Having the passion for this field will allow the creative problem solving, positive attitude, doing the right thing, and working hard to come naturally. Working at Partners has really shown me that my passion is working with kids and providing support for them to be the best they can be.
